Abbot Richard has the sad duty to report to that early this morning Fr. Rembert Reilly, O.S.B., 89, died at Morristown Medical Center.
Fr. Rembert was professed July 11, 1953, and ordained May 23, 1959. Since that time, Fr. Rembert served faithfully in Delbarton School, and he was a treasured figure to countless alumni and staff. Fr. Rembert also generously ministered in numerous parishes and area convents. He was also a model monk, often one of the early to arrive in choir for the Divine Office or Mass, neither of which he ever missed. Because of the current constraints, obsequies will be private. We invite you to join us in prayer by live stream. Details will be forthcoming.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
The above photo is from Palm Sunday 2019, when Fr. Rembert was honored by the Delbarton Parents of Graduates Association (DPGA), anticipating, too, his 60th jubilee of ordination.
