"The life of a monk ought to be a continuous Lent. Since few, however, have the strength for this, we urge the entire community during these days of Lent to keep its manner of life most pure and to wash away in this holy season the negligence of other times....and look forward to holy Easter with joy and spiritual longing." The holy season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 17, 2021. The following liturgies are open to the public, bearing in mind all Covid protocols. i.e. masks are required in the abbey church at all times, and to be properly worn, guests are to maintain social distancing (min. 6' apart) if you are from different households, and sit in designated areas. Hand sanitizer and a small supply of masks are available at the doors. BYOM (bring your own mask)!
Ashes will be distributed at both Mass and Vespers, with modifications recently issued by the Holy See. The doors of the abbey church will open at 6 a.m., and again at 4:30 p.m. It will be sanitized after each liturgy.
